Welcome to New Life Presbyterian Church! We are glad you have joined with us to worship our Triune God. Please join us after the service in our fellowship hall and get to know others in our community who call New Life home. If you have any questions about our church—what we believe or why we do the thing we do—please feel free to contact the church.
When you arrive for worship, please take opportunity to prepare yourself for worship and to enter into God’s Divine Service. Silence your cell phone, listen to the prelude, read the Scripture reading for the morning, and join others in prayer and meditation.
Our service is intentionally structured to reflect our belief that worship is God’s service to us, his people. By design, there are three parts to our worship: the Service of Entrance, the Service of the Word, and the Service of the Table.
The Service of Entrance begins with the prelude and then when the choir sings, followed by the Call to Worship, the hymn of adoration and prayer of invocation. We then join in corporate confession of sin, hear God’s declaration of absolution, and then respond in songs of praise.
The Service of the Word will include readings from the Bible—from both the Old and New Testaments—mostly drawn from the Lectionary (a church calendar based system used by millions of Christians to read through the entire Bible). There will also be prayers and hymns of response to these readings and an extended reflection on a text of Scripture called the sermon.
The Service of the Table begins with our corporate confession of our faith. And our service culminates here with the Lord’s Supper and the Benediction. We partake of the communion meal every single week. We welcome to this table all baptized Christians, who are trusting in Christ for their salvation, who have made a public profession of faith, and who are part of God’s visible church.
We love kids! And we want them to feel welcome and part of the worship service. You can help your children profit from the service by working through the bulletin with them during the service and at home. For the training of young children you will find two glass rooms in the back of the sanctuary. We also have Sunday school classes for all ages after the worship service.
